The Marketing and Communication Manager will be involved in developing the college’s marketing strategy and annual marketing plan in collaboration with the leadership team and the Group’s Director of Marketing.

Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns, thrive on deadlines, have excellent ICT and organisational skills and work with a team whose primary focus is the recruitment and retention of domestic pupils and international.

Job summary

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a coherent marketing strategy for the whole College, in close consultation with the Principal and the Group’s Director of Marketing, aligned with College’s key aims, Development Plan, vision and values, so that student recruitment and retention is optimised at all times

Raising of the College profile – nationally and internationally

Development of an integrated marketing and communication strategy and regular analysis and reporting on all marketing tactics

Responsible for the design and production of internal and external marketing material

Effective management of external communications

Creative design and production of College marketing collateral, liaising with external agencies when appropriate

Consistent implementation of the College’s brand guidelines, providing overall editorial and design control across all communications and advertising media

Support planning of overseas recruitment trips and attend overseas recruitment trips to key markets, as agreed with the Principal. These will include working closely with overseas agents and/or attending international trade fairs

Strategic management of the College’s website, with responsibility for its continual evolution, update and ongoing accuracy. Development and implementation of an effective digital and social media strategy;

Development and oversight of the College’s overall events strategy including Open Days, Feeder School events, Open evenings, taster events etc. – attending these whenever necessary;

Visits to feeder schools, educational exhibitions and other UK recruitment events, as agreed by the Principal, as well as involvement in developing suitable links and relationships in the local community as a whole

 

Admissions support:

Be an active, approachable and engaging presence for all stakeholders

Provide advice to parents/guardians/agents about courses at the College

Support projects and campaigns that have the potential to boost engagement, applications and student retention

Assist in organising the testing of UK candidates working with academic staff at all entry points;

Maintain a good working knowledge and experience of GDPR regulations

Liaise with academic and pastoral staff for content generation

Provide support and cover for other members of the Admissions department when necessary

DLD College London, affectionately known as DLD, is a multi-award-winning boarding and day school in the heart of London opposite the Houses of Parliament and close to Waterloo and South Bank. Its mission is to ‘Develop the next generation of Leaders to take their place in a challenging and Diverse world’; from now on, that is what DLD now means to us – Development, Leadership, and Diversity.

DLD was founded in 1931 by Davies, Laing & Dick to provide tutoring for Oxbridge and the Colonial Service entrance exams. After the Second World War, the college specialised in ‘A’ and ‘O’ Level teaching. Over some fifty years, there has been a gradual transformation so that DLD now is a school for 13-19 year-olds providing full-time education for some four hundred children.

Checks and Training

• Enhanced DBS checks to ascertain your suitability to work with children will be carried out. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and therefore all convictions, cautions and bindovers, including those regarded as ‘spent’ must be declared.

• Online searches will be carried out on candidates for any unsuitable content by or about candidates.

• Two written & verbal references from previous employers and a personal reference will be sought. Your referees will be asked about your suitability to work with children and whether you know of any disciplinary offences relating to children or young persons and whether you have been the subject of any child protection allegations or concerns and if so the outcome of any enquiry or disciplinary procedure.

• Your full employment history will be checked, any significant gaps will require explanation and proof of any relevant qualifications will need to be provided.

• You will be required to complete Child Protection Training via e-learning prior to commencing employment.

• Pre-employment health screening will be carried out.
