Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. 

In response to the current climate, Nelson and Colne College are seeking an experienced Marketing Executive (Events) to join our Marketing team on a full time, permanent basis, in order to lead the College’s virtual event delivery and digital content development. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of coordinating virtual event projects including working with digital experts/agencies in order to develop effective online platform solutions to support event delivery. You will also have excellent writing skills to build content for the event platforms, and be able to coordinate the production of video and other digital content to improve the virtual event experience. You will be skilled in delivering campaigns to drive traffic to events that will support recruitment and raise brand awareness for the College Group. 

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across to other college’s sites.

The main duties include:

• Take a lead on the delivery of both virtual and on-site (where possible) events ensuring a positive user experience

• Effectively manage a responsive Events Calendar 

• Be responsible for leading projects to build content for a virtual environment and improve user experience e.g. video content, virtual tours, live streaming etc

• Evaluate the effectiveness of virtual events, against objectives (using analytics)

• Working with the broader Marketing team, lead an advertising and communications plan to drive traffic to our events and promote the College brand

• Engage key staff and curriculum teams with event delivery, sharing creative ideas to improve our events and supporting them with resource and material delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree level qualification in a relevant subject area.

• Professional qualification in Marketing, such as CIM (Highly Desirable)

• Extensive experience of delivering virtual event projects 

• Campaign delivery experience to drive event attendance and support a positive visitor experience

• Excellent writing and proof-reading skills with good attention to detail

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
