JOB DESCRIPTION

A large part of the role is to ensure that the marketing department is clear about the unique proposition that the school offers and is able to position the school’s brand in the most effective manner with the appropriate channels to drive enrollment growth. This role heads up the marketing department, one of the busiest and most dynamic teams in the school. As the head of the department you will lead this team, work closely with senior management to drive the school’s strategic goals and develop marketing strategies to drive enrollment growth. The Nexus School environment requires you to be flexible and adaptive to meet the demands of the business.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Responsible for the formulation and implementation of marketing strategies that drive enrollment growth

● Work with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop strategic marketing plans that ensure effective management of the marketing budget to increase enrollment

● Take a leadership role within the school, across all academic and administrative departments to promote the aims and goals of the marketing department to increase enrollment

● Create and implement marketing strategies to meet business goals

● Ensure comprehensive market research and data collection and drive proactive analysis and continuous improvement to the marketing plan

● Oversee liaison with appointed agency on media strategy, bookings, copy and layouts

● Make effective use of all resources available to the marketing department, nurturing the strengths and aspirations of personnel

● Ensure that the Nexus brand is proactively maintained within the prescribed Corporate Identity guidelines, promoting strong ties and a single vision across Nexus Schools

● Ensure clarity and uniformity of all forms of communication to stakeholders

● Hold overall responsibility for the content and effectiveness of the school website with a drive for continuous improvement

● Responsible for managing all public relation events and activities to maintain and augment the awareness of Nexus in the marketplace

● Keep track of all editorial coverage reporting

● Work closely with agencies, media contacts and suppliers to obtain KPIs

● Create effective campaigns that drive the business objectives

● Work with and foster relationships with Taylor’s Education board members

● Maintain and analyse all expenses for marketing activities to ensure cost effectiveness against budget

● Prepare and deliver business review presentations as appropriate

● Involvement in whole school events and activities as required.

● To perform any other duties as assigned by the management, stakeholders and reporting manager

A TYPICAL DAY

Leading this key department in the school means that no two days are ever the same! Today my day kicks off with a strategic planning session involving colleagues from the senior team and Taylor’s office. We are putting together ideas for the next campaign which will position us in the market to drive student enrollment. As part of this strategy meeting, we look at the competitors in the market and how we can make ourselves stand out through clear messaging. I then head to a meeting with my department as we are updating the school website to make sure the content is up to date and has clear messaging to reflect the strengths of the school. The Heads of School join for this as we will be collaborating on the content.

My afternoon is dedicated to cross-checking our campaign performance with our media agency data and our Social, Google Console and Analytics data. We are looking for gaps and make slight improvements to ad word copy and refreshing some creatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

● A minimum diploma/degree in Marketing/Business Administration/Public Relations

● Excellent written and oral communication and oral presentation skills

● Significant marketing/public relations/event management experience

● Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in management/ leadership. Experience within the international education sector is a distinct advantage. Established network contacts within the media/education/public relations industries would also be an advantage

● Minimum 3 years experience managing a team (effective and established team in place)

● Strong experience and understanding of online and digital media placement, spend, analysis, SEM and SEO is essential

● Excellent financial analytical skills

● Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and embrace the company’s corporate philosophy

● Excellent and established leadership and organizational skills

● Professional and flexible attitude towards change and continuous improvement is essential

● Good sense of humour and understanding of the needs and demands of stakeholders from all economic backgrounds across 50 different nationalities
