An exciting opportunity has arisen to teach in a hospital school which has been rated outstanding by OFSTED over three consecutive inspections.
Ellern Mede Hospital is a 28-bed inpatient Tier 4 CAHMS unit for young people with eating disorders. The school is on the picturesque site of Ellern Mede hospital and takes pride in delivering engaging lessons despite the barriers the young people face. Teaching at Ellern Mede School is a fulfilling way to teach Math as a curriculum subject. The role also requires being a key teacher which means you are responsible for their pastoral needs, links to their home school and representing their educational needs to the medical team. This is a significant part of the role.
We are seeking a subject teacher (KS3 - post 16) in Math to as soon as possible who is committed to delivering excellent lessons. The position is full time but part-time is also possible. The successful candidate should be able to teach in a flexible manner and have excellent pastoral skills. They should be prepared to teach on the ward as well as in the classroom. All Ellern Mede teachers must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build trusting relationships with pupils, families, colleagues, young people's partner schools as well as the wider medical team. The successful candidate must have a strong interest and enthusiasm for developing further in this setting.
