Job overview

An exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious practitioner to join one of the most rapidly improving departments in the city. Over the previous 24 months significant improvements have been made with student outcomes in mathematics with further gains expected in 2019.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Leader to build on the rapid progress already made by the department. You will be well supported, working alongside a curriculum leader and a senior leader who is a mathematic specialist and leads on whole school data.  Within the department you will also benefit from being able to deploy the skills of the Lead Practitioner to further support the development of staff and students.  In addition to this you will be able to draw on the experiences of other subject leaders from across the Trust.

This is a critical role in the next phase of the Academy’s journey to secure rapid and sustained improvement. You will be a key stakeholder in the development of both teaching and learning and wider strategic planning. This role would suit a skilled classroom practitioner who is already an experience middle leader or who is seeking to develop their leadership skills within their first middle leadership post. We are seeking a middle leader who aspires to further career progression within the next 24 months.

The successful candidate will have strategic oversight of pupil outcomes and intervention programmes within the department. You will be responsible for:

• Improving rates of progress within mathematics

• Developing effective assessment routines

• Lead on securing equitable outcomes for all learners

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Be passionate about improving the life chances of learners

• Be committed to developing other practitioners

• Be an excellent classroom practitioner

• Have a track record in improving the outcomes of learners

In return we will provide you with:

• The opportunity to work with our outstanding students

• A bespoke middle leadership programme with potential for further career progression

• An excellent mathematics staff with a highly effective leadership group to support your development

• The opportunity to work with other leaders from across the Tudor Grange Academies Trust

Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. To arrange a visit please contact Mrs Fletcher-Warrington at MFletcherWarrington@samworth.tgacaemy.org.uk or by telephone 01162780232

If you have strong inter-personal skills, are ambitious for yourself and your students and have the ability to inspire and lead others, we welcome your application and look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date for applications is 25th March 2019.  Please note that CVs will not be accepted.

“The recruitment process is robust in seeking to establish the commitment of candidates to support the school’s measures to safeguard children and to identify, deter or reject people who might pose a risk of harm to children or are otherwise unsuited to work with them”.
