The opportunity
We are now looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher with the ability to teach in all Key Stages to start in August 2022.
The department teaches a wide range of courses, and applicants should be able to demonstrate success in all age groups. At Key Stage 3, our teaching programme is topic-based and incorporates problem-solving and enquiry-based learning. Key Stage 4 examination courses include IGCSE Mathematics, GCSE Statistics and IGCSE Further Pure Mathematics. The subject is extremely popular at Key Stage 5, with around 100 students choosing to study the International A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics courses at AS level; most of these students will continue to study the subject at A2. There is a significant breadth to the modules we offer at A Level to support the talents of our students.
All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards and displays; all students are furnished with an iPad upon entry, and staff and students use Google Classroom.
About you
The ideal candidate will be someone who teaches for understanding, can think on their feet and who will be able to stretch students as well as being willing to be challenged academically by them. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will be responsible for instilling a passion for mathematics in students and monitoring and evaluating student achievement, as well as contributing to accomplishing the College’s vision and mission. The successful candidate will be an outstanding role model within the Mathematics Faculty and Doha College as a whole.
We are a British international school, and all of our lessons are taught in English; therefore, a high standard of written and spoken English is essential, along with a detailed knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including co-curricular activities.
