Macleans College is seeking an experienced teacher of mathematics to join their large and well resourced math department. You will bring your passion for mathematics to the classroom, and utilise differentiated learning to engage pupils in the subject.  If you have:

  • a mathematics degree and a recognised school teaching qualification that enables you to teach 13-18 year olds
  • strong emphasis on academic achievement
  • the ability and/or experience in teaching statistics to scholarship/A-level
    then you may be the teacher we are looking for.

 

Macleans is very academically focused and offers both the NZ National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and the Cambridge (CIE) curricula. Students also enjoy a wide range of extracurricular activities from sports to music, drama, cultural groups, service and academic competitions.

Located 25 minutes from the CBD, the college sits on the Eastern peninsula, with views of the Waitemata Harbour, and is well served by a wide range of local amenities in a picturesque part of Auckland.

 Macleans College is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary in Auckland, New Zealand. The city of Auckland is located on the country’s north island, and has a population of over 1.5 million. The school itself is located less than 1.5 kilometres from the coastline. Opened in 1980, the school now sits on 32 acre campus with over 2,500 students on the school roll. The whanau is an extended family of approximately 300 students which operates as a mini school within the larger school. Macleans College offers the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) qualifications of International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and full Advanced (A) levels. Students are taught at junior and senior levels.

The official emblem of the school, worn on the students' jerseys, incorporates as a centrepiece a castle from the Maclean family crest and is set against six waves. The school motto is ‘virtue mine honour’.
