Rome international School is looking to appoint a well-qualified Teacher of Mathematics with excellent subject knowledge to join our committed and dedicated team. 

The ideal candidate should preferably have experience of teaching at IGCSE and also be able to teach Mathematics up to IBDP level. We are looking for a hard working and creative educator who would like to be part of a well-established, dynamic, forward thinking department. 

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who values collaboration and is dedicated to the holistic development of our enthusiastic students. A strong commitment to the school’s co-curricular programme is also a must. 

Students at Rome international School complete Cambridge IGCSEs before moving on to the IB Diploma. 

Roles and Responsibilities (Curriculum Assessment and Pedagogy, Departmental):

Teach across all levels and abilities: Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE’s, IBDP (or equivalent)

Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and an understanding of the demands of IGCSE’s/IB examinations, and where appropriate, ensure that students are very well prepared to take these and any entrance requirements for their next phase of education. 

Develop, maintain and stimulate pupils’ curiosity, interest and enjoyment in Mathematics

Enable all pupils to have equal access to Mathematics and to experience success in their work  

Develop pupils’ familiarity, competence and confidence with appropriate Mathematical concepts, principles, methods and vocabulary  

Provide challenge for every pupil and to encourage all pupils to achieve their potential in Mathematics  

Have experience of improvement planning and of implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success

Develop pupils’ understanding and applications of Mathematics in its wider context  

Set and mark homework regularly and develop strategies to engage students in the assessment of their own learning

Share in departmental best practice  

Willingness to invest extra time to ensure students achieve the best standard

Utilise the School’s information management systems, including ManageBac to record assessment outcomes and ISAMS for attendance 

Carry out any reasonable subject-related duties assigned to them by their Head of Department.  

Attend department meetings and moderation meetings as requested by their Head of Department.
