TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS: Outer London pay scale (a TLR (KS5) may be available for suitable candidate)
Required from April 2018 or September 2018
We are seeking to appoint a main scale mathematics teacher with a deep interest in how young people learn: a colleague committed to the highest standards in teaching and learning who will work well in a successful, supportive school. We are looking for candidates to teach Mathematics at KS3, KS4 and at A Level. The ability to teach at KS5 is desirable but not essential and these posts may be suitable for NQTs. A TLR may be available for a suitable candidate.
There are sixteen members in the mathematics department including the headteacher. NQTs are well supported at Park High through a mentoring system, weekly sessions with the Professional Coordinating Mentor and a monthly Induction Programme. Currently, there are four NQTs and one School Direct trainee teacher in the department who are all mentored by professionally trained mentors. An outstanding mathematics department with 80% 9-4 GCSE results.
Park High is an 11-18 mixed multi-ethnic comprehensive school of almost 1600 students, situated in the London Borough of Harrow. There are very high achievement levels and excellent facilities. Ofsted (2013) judged the school outstanding in all areas and in early 2014 we were designated a National Teaching School. All classrooms are equipped with data projectors and screens. Staff development is widely regarded as “leading edge”: we have strong partnerships with universities and other higher education institutions and we actively support our staff in pursuing Masters and other higher qualifications.
Closing date: Monday 22 January 2018
