History of the School

Stratford Preparatory School was founded in 1989 by the current Proprietor and Principal, Mrs Catherine Quinn, and began with only one pupil. From this small beginning has grown a highly successful Preparatory School and Nursery, which caters for nearly 100 children aged 2-11.

The school enjoys a deservedly excellent academic reputation, and each year around 70% of the Junior 4 class (Year 6) who take the 11+ Examination are successful. Many children will go on to the highly regarded local Grammar Schools- Stratford Girls’ Grammar (Shottery), King Edward’s or Alcester Grammar, or to the top Independent Secondary Schools in the area, such as Warwick Boys, King’s High, Bloxham, or Kingsley. We pride ourselves on providing bespoke advice for each family as only a truly independent Preparatory School can do.

The school also offers a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, ranging from sailing to swimming, from desktop publishing to Design Technology, from Drama to Country Dance, and from Orchestra to several choirs. We pride ourselves on being a happy school with a family feel, and the staff team is warm and welcoming.

We are a happy school with traditional values and a modern outlook. We need someone who is looking to join our team and help us to provide our children with the very best start in life.
