Due to our continued growth, Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL) is looking for a Maths and Computing teacher from August 2020. This is a unique opportunity; SSL benefits from the vision, security, systems and excellent reputation of an established school whilst offering an exciting opportunity to have a pioneering impact on the lives of our students.
The BSN focuses on organic growth and has prided itself for always having a place for any student wanting a British curriculum education since 1931. To meet increasing demand and ensure quality of the teaching provision, the BSN has expanded its Junior School Leidschenveen (JSL) campus to include a senior school. This development is testament to the BSN’s ambition to create a learning continuum for ages 3-18 with purpose-built design.
In September 2019, the school moved into the first phase of new buildings, which currently houses our two year groups (Yrs7 & 8) of approximately 100 students. SSL is due to add its main teaching block to the current state of the art facilities in July 2020, ready to be occupied by our students from the start of the 2020/21 academic year. When fully established (approximately 550 students) SSL will offer GCSE, A Level and IBDP qualification pathways. The school has planned for natural growth (first GCSE cohort September 2021) but demand for school places may result in quicker than expected growth and examination years being introduced at an earlier stage. At Key Stage 3, Computing is taught for one hour a week in mixed ability groups and Mathematics is also taught in mixed ability groups in Years 7 and 8 but students are set on ability from Year 9 in preparation for GCSE.
The ideal candidate will have strong English national curriculum knowledge, a successful track record in teaching Maths and Computing at Key Stage 3, as well as at least one of these subject areas to GCSE and beyond. A willingness to fully engage in the extra-curricular life of the school will be expected.
If you are excited about what you have read so far and want to make history as one of the pioneering teachers at SSL, submit your CV and motivational letter, which should be no longer than two sides of A4, addressed to James Oxlade indicating how your experience to date has prepared you for this position.
The closing date for applications: midnight (CET) Sunday 23 February 2020 at the latest.
Initial round of video interviews via Cammio: week of 24 February 2020.
Final interviews in The Netherlands: week of 9 March 2020.
