Maths Circle Mentor

This is a temporary, part-time post for a maximum of 30 weeks, 2.5 to 3.5 hours per week

We are seeking a part-time Maths Circle Mentor to join our MESME (Mathematics Education for Social Mobility and Excellence) Widening Participation & Outreach Mathematics Programme. The Maths Circles support students from all backgrounds to achieve mathematical excellence so that they feel more confident as mathematicians and go on to have a greater range of future personal and employment choices.

You will be responsible for providing mentoring for KS3 students and actively engage in training and development. Mentors are expected to be available between 16.00 and 17.30 on Wednesday afternoons during term time. You will reflect and report on the progress made by mentees. You will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and maintain the confidentiality of staff and student information.

We are looking for someone flexible and with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm.

Imperial College London Mathematics School (ICLMS) opened in September 2023. The school provides a diverse range of young people with access to a unique educational experience. The school is located adjacent to Woodhouse College. The school offers A levels in mathematics, further mathematics, physics and chemistry along with additional A level options from the Woodhouse College curriculum.
