Job overview

We are looking for a Mathematics Curriculum Specialist to assist us with a curriculum localisation project. A significant component of the job will be reviewing and providing feedback on our curriculum, while making sure it is easy to read, pedagogically rich, and contains age-appropriate content for a student audience, ages 6 to 15, in Australia. You will be an integral member of a team localising the primary and some secondary school-levels mathematics materials.

As part of this project, you will be a partner with Mathnasium team members to ensure our proprietary, time-tested, and extensive curriculum continues to teach and inspire millions of students every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Review  and provide feedback regarding education Assessment tools and resources
  • Suggest changes to terminology and language
  • Reference  Australian mathematics curriculum and mathematics resources
  • Ensure  mathematics language is localised and age-appropriate

Job Type: Freelance, working from home.
 

Estimated hours needed:

Phase 1: approximately 35 hours per week (sometimes less or more) for a period of 6 weeks

Phase 2: approximately 12 - 16 hours per week (sometimes less or more) for a period of 8 weeks

Required Skills:

  • Expert understanding of primary and /or secondary school-levels mathematics      pedagogy
  • Experience in Mathematics education in Australia (e.g. as a Mathematics school      teacher, Mathematics content editor, or School administrator)
  • Knowledge of Mathematics Curriculum and content standards (Ages 6 to 15) in      Australia
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, general user knowledge of technology tools

We do not require translation experience for this role, however, due to the nature of this work, some training related to translation tools and the Mathnasium Method will be provided.
