The role has also been established to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of mentoring and tuition for individual and small groups of students in Maths, supporting our young people to gain qualifications that will aid their Post-16 pathways.

The role is as a Maths Mentor who will work with our students through a variety of intervention strategies. The aim of the role is to secure improved outcomes and progress for our FSM (free school meals) students. The role requires working with our KS4 students (Years 10 and 11) to provide additional academic support for eligible students in order to improve outcomes in the Maths GCSE, reducing the gap between the results of disadvantaged students (FSM) and their peers. You will get the opportunity to work with students of various abilities in KS4. Support of our students to be ready for external examinations is key. The Maths Mentor will, with support, plan a carefully sequenced suite of Maths interventions.

You will make a valuable contribution to our students and the Maths Department. Under the direction of the KS4 Director of Learning and the Head of Department. You will be working alongside experienced maths specialist teachers and will get the opportunity to collaborate within the team.
