Tes is supporting the appointment of an enthusiastic teacher who can inspire children and young people with complex learning through Maths and Science. The school's children and young people need engaging, creative, practical learning and so delivering staff need the ability to thrive in a flexible curriculum structure and fully utilise their fantastic facilities to offer personalised programmes.

Delivering staff are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate all children and young people through sessions that promote learning as well as offer experiences, develop independence and promote life skills.

This teacher position covers the planning and delivery of lessons to all of the children and young people who attend the school and so the successful candidate must commit to getting to know the needs and abilities of all prior to planning educational activities.

Although this is an advert for a Maths and Science Teacher, there may be other aspects of the curriculum that may be required to teach.

About the school:

The young people who attend this school all have an EHCP. The school meets the needs of a range of SEN including; Autism, Learning Difficulties, Mental Health & Medical needs and related behavioural difficulties.

The cohort you will teach as the maths and science teacher are predominantly Key stage 3 and 4 with a diagnoses of autism, as well as presenting with SEMH behaviours, which can be challenging.

  • Ability to work on own initiative;
  • Willing to undertake training
  • Experience with SEMH and PRU environments
