Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join us as a Maths Teacher

The successful candidate will:
• Plan teaching to achieve progression in pupils’ learning
• Help to engage students with both reading and writing
• Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge
• Establish and maintain a safe environment and purposeful working atmosphere which supports learning and in which pupils feel secure and confident

Our ideal candidate will have:
• A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
• At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
• QTS/QTLS is advantageous

At New Ways School and College;
New Ways is an Outstanding Independent SEN School with two sites. Our KS3 students attend our school site in South Birmingham (B38), and our KS4 KS5 students attend our college site in North Worcestershire (B60). New Ways caters for 11-19 year olds who have special education needs relating mainly to Autism.

Pupils
New Ways School is dedicated to pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, conduct disorders, attachment difficulties, global developmental delay, and moderate learning difficulties (MLDs). We use a therapeutic approach to help young people understand themselves, connect with others who have similar needs, and navigate the wider community. We also work closely with external agencies, including CAMHS, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, social workers, and Barnardo's, to further support our pupils’ well-being.
