Job overview

We are looking for an inspirational Maths teacher to join our dynamic and successful department. Ealing Fields is an academically aspirational school with a strong community ethos. We have consistently been in the top 1% of schools nationally for student progress. Our students share our ambition and the standard of behaviour here is outstanding. As a school within the highly successful Twyford Trust, we also offer exciting development and promotion prospects.

Our department is committed to innovating, developing and sharing the best practices in maths teaching which enable students of all backgrounds and abilities to succeed and enjoy our facilitating subject. Teachers work collaboratively within the department and across our trust, with a highly developed curriculum, lesson resources and assessment structure in place to support teachers to deliver consistently outstanding lessons. The teachers in the maths department, the wider staff body and our leadership team are very supportive and we pride ourselves on the exceptional professional development we offer our teachers, which includes weekly training sessions and coaching. As a small secondary school, it is easy for every child to be well known by every member of staff which has helped foster a close-knit school community with a strong set of values built around our shared mission of enabling our students to have ‘Life in all its fullness’.

The main purpose of this teaching role is to achieve outstanding progress for all classes taught and to deliver outstanding pastoral care to students both within maths lessons and when delivering the pastoral curriculum to a tutor group. Our teachers work collaboratively to promote the school’s ethos and vision through, for example, active engagement with the school’s house system and wider learning opportunities.

Ealing Fields is easily accessible by public transport with the Piccadilly line a short walk away and regular buses to Ealing Broadway which is served by the Central, District and Elizabeth lines. Our staff are on the inner London pay scales and we welcome applications from both experienced and early career teachers.

We offer:

  • Exceptional professional development and career progression.
  • Positive working relationships at all levels.
  • A supportive Leadership Team and strong school systems.
  • Opportunity to gain experience within a highly successful trust with a common commitment to professional collaboration.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Ability to teach Maths to at least KS4.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum.
  • An understanding of recent curriculum/learning developments.
  • An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement.
  • An understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively.
  • Ability to be reflective and driven towards self-improvement.
  • A commitment to the ethos of the school.

The school reserves the right to close this vacancy early if we identify a suitable candidate for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

About Ealing Fields High School

Ealing Fields High School is  part of the Twyford CofE Trust which is the highest performing Trust  in the country.  The school, and Trust, offers good promotion prospects  for motivated and energetic leaders who support the ethos of our  schools.

Ealing Fields High School

Ealing Fields High School was opened as a Free School in 2016 and became part of the Twyford CE Academies Trust on 1st September 2017.  Ealing Fields is the smallest of the Trust schools,  with only 150 in each Year Group and therefore often feels more like a  family than a school.  The staff community is very positive, highly  motivated and fully engaged in professional development.   The school moved to its brand-new permanent site in Northfields in September 2020 and achieved a Progress 8 score of +1.34 in 2022 and 2023 and +1.3 in 2024.  The team at Ealing Fields is particularly proud of the fact that there  were virtually no gaps in the attainment of boys and girls or advantaged  and disadvantaged students; this reflects our relentless commitment to  providing the best possible education for  all students.

Ealing Fields High School is consulting on its Admissions policy for entry into Year 7 in September 2026 to include ‘Children of Staff’ places. If, as we expect, the proposal is approved, the admissions policy will include the following criterion: ‘Children of all staff’ where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made or where the member of staff has been recruited to a post where there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
