Job Title:     Maths Teacher

Location:     Jubilee School, Waterlooville, Hampshire

Salary:       £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours:       40 hours per week; Monday to Friday​ 0830-1630

Contract:     Permanent; Term-Time only

Are you a Maths Teacher committed to improving the lives of children and young people? We are looking for an outstanding Maths Teacher to join the Jubilee School team.

As Maths Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.

Purpose of Job

  • To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher/ Senior Lead for curriculum and learning.
  • To teach a range of skills and techniques as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s Maths curriculum.
  • Support the development of the maths provision within KS3 and KS4, that has a whole school impact, including younger year groups.

Knowledge and Understanding

Have knowledge and understanding of:

  • Key Stages 3 and 4 Maths curriculum
  • Strategies that relate to the education and personal development of SEMH pupils including effective behaviour management techniques and opportunities to praise and reward.
  • Implementing a school’s vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans in relation to classroom practise.
  • Statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ attainment and progress.
  • The characteristics of high-quality teaching and learning as well as strategies to improve and sustain high standards of teaching and learning leading to achievement for all pupils.
  • The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.

Educated to Post Graduate Cert Ed/QTS level, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

Jubilee School is an independent special school for pupils with complex needs. These include social, emotional and mental health needs. Some pupils have additional associated SEND. Jubilee School is linked with our residential homes and is located in Waterlooville, just outside of Portsmouth.

This opportunity is in Waterlooville which is within commutable distance of Portsmouth, Chichester and surrounding areas.

Jubilee School is a co-educational day school, which helps educate and support children aged between 8 – 16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and additional complex behaviours.
