We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School Maths teacher to join our school community from September 2026.

Situated on a beautiful campus in Limbe, Hillview serves a vibrant, family-oriented community, making it a truly rewarding place to work. Our Primary School, established in the 1950s, feeds into our High School, which was opened in 2015. Our students have achieved remarkable outcomes, with a 93% A*-C rate in our last exam session and 44% of IGCSEs taken across all exam sessions scoring A*/A. Following a period of significant growth and the continued evolution of our High School, we are seeking to appoint additional staff to our core teaching team. This expansion reflects our commitment to maintaining small class sizes and personalized instruction as our student population continues to flourish.


Specifications

  • Teaching Maths at KS3 and at IGCSE (Cambridge International);

  • The ideal candidate would be able to offer a second subject, ideally Physics or Biology, though there is some flexibility for the right candidate;

  • Enthusiastic, conscientious, and energetic individual with a strong track record of securing excellent outcomes for pupils;

  • The ability to deliver high-quality teaching to facilitate student learning and individual potential;

  • Familiarity with the British National Curriculum (Key Stages 3 and 4) and Cambridge Curriculum would be an advantage.

Requirements

Successful applicants will have:  

  • B.Ed or degree and PGCE, or equivalent

  • Proven experience teaching Maths to IGCSE

  • A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom

  • Excellent IT skills including knowledge of Google Suite (or the ability to learn quickly)

About Hillview International School

Hillview International School, located in Limbe near Blantyre, Malawi, was originally established as a not-for-profit primary school in the 1950s. Today, it has evolved into one of Malawi’s leading private schools, offering comprehensive education from Pre-Primary through to IGCSE and recognized for its high academic standards, inclusive community, and commitment to outreach.

Hillview’s High School was launched in 2015, and in 2022, the Pre-Primary section was formally integrated into the school. The school also provides facilities for Patsagolo, an independent institution for children with severe learning needs, as well as with local orphanages and schools, such as Bahasi, as part of our community outreach program.
