Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher of Maths to join our Maths department from January 2017. The role would be suitable for an experienced member of staff who has QTS. There is a possibility of a post responsibility for the right person. Experience of or a desire to teach A Level Maths would be advantageous, but not essential. There is a tailor-made whole school professional development programme to enable you to further develop your career at Sedgehill School. 

The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range in this improving 11-19 school, with 1,400 students on roll including 300 in our 6th form. You would be joining a supportive, committed and experienced team who work hard to deliver innovative and enjoyable lessons.

Sedgehill is on a rapid transformational journey and the school is now rapidly improving. Standards are being transformed across the school and this is an exciting opportunity for the right person to contribute significantly to a school improvement journey. Sedgehill is the largest secondary school in Lewisham and moved in to its state of the art facilities some years ago. The school works closely with a number of other schools nationally through Challenge Partners and a huge range of training opportunities come through this partnership.

Sedgehill is located in a green and leafy part of Lewisham close to the border with Bromley and has good transport links to Central London.
