Job overview

TEACHER OF MATHS

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Maths Teacher, up to A-Level, for September 2017.  The person appointed will be expected to teach across KS3 and KS4 during the coming academic year 2017-18 but should have a keen interest in Sixth Form teaching, including the ability to contribute to A-Level and Further Maths within a year of appointment.

The post would suit someone with at least 3 or 4 years' experience but exceptional NQTs who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and passion for this core subject will be considered.  A TLR 2 will be considered for any candidate whom Governors feel has the potential to be a model practitioner and can provide valuable links between KS4 and 5, building on the current popularity of A-Level Maths and making a significant contribution to our successful and ambitious Maths Department.

Bellerive Catholic College is a popular and oversubscribed school. The latest OFSTED inspection, October 2021, graded Bellerive as Good. Located in a pleasant area of the city, adjacent to two parks, the college is a non selective school for girls, with boys admitted to the sixth form. The intake is from over 60 primary schools throughout the city and beyond.

The college has benefited from significant capital expenditure, including a new Sixth Form block and excellent new teaching facilities.  New science laboratories, ICT and Technology facilities opened in September 2017, together with a new Sports Hall.

The school performs above the national average in a number of measures.
