Woodbourne Hospital School are looking to recruit an outstanding Maths Teacher to join our Teaching team on a fixed term contract until July 2023, with the possibility of extension until December 2023.

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils.  

The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

​​​​​​​Woodbourne Hospital School is an independent day school for young people aged 12 to 18 with mental health challenges. Our pupils are all inpatients at Woodbourne Hospital, which provides a CAMHS service on a General Adolescent Unit (GAU) ward with a total of 14 places.

It is our intention that every student develops their courage, determination and skills as a learner, so they can re-engage confidently with their education on discharge. We liaise with mainstream schools and colleges and each young person has an bespoke curriculum plan in each subject area.

Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged. 


Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.


Organisation – You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.


Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.


Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital

The Woodbourne Priory Hospital is a 43-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adolescents and adults offering a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, day patient and therapy services, including a 12-bed adolescent ward.

Specialist services:

  • Addiction treatment
  • Treatment for a wide range of addictions, including alcohol, drugs and gambling.
  • Eating disorders
  • Treatment for people with anorexia, bulimia and related conditions.
  • Adolescent unit

A specialist unit for 12 to17 year olds who have a definable psychiatric disorder, as well as for those experiencing emotional, behavioural or psychological problems. The unit offers programmes for all adolescent mental illnesses except addiction treatment.

Therapy

We offer a therapy service run by fully qualified therapists and counsellors that includes both group and individual therapy for people who do not require inpatient treatment, yet recognise that they need help with their mental health issues.

Facilities

Patients have their own comfortable en-suite rooms with television and are encouraged to have their meals in the main dining room.
