Job overview

RISE@GHC (specialist resource provision at Garth Hill College)

Required for September 2026

Are you a talented educator with a big heart who shares our commitment to excellence and achieving the very best for all our pupils?

We would like to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed individual to the permanent post of Maths teacher (SEND) to start in September 2026. The ability to teach Maths at GCSE is highly desirable.

Rise@GHC is a specialist resource provision for learners with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and other related special educational needs.

The centre is part of Garth Hill College but operates in dedicated buildings within a short walk/drive from our main site. NAS autism accreditation was awarded in 2024, in addition to achieving the silver award for school of the year in the Pride of Bracknell awards.

Support enables autistic young people to take part in a range of activities which are purposeful and engaging and which promote their independence and emotional well-being together with their social communication skills (National Autistic Society Accreditation, July 2024)

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Help our pupils to learn, progress and achieve.

  • Work well in partnership with others including parents/carers and multi-agency teams.

  • Create innovative curriculum and teaching plans.

  • Deliver challenging and exciting learning.

  • Contribute positively to the work of the team and the success of Rise@GHC.

Pupils enjoy coming to this inclusive, friendly school. (Ofsted, October 2024)

Garth Hill is a happy and vibrant place of learning with a strong team ethos, excellent facilities and an exceptional professional development programme with great opportunities for further career development.

We are proud to be a genuinely comprehensive school and offer a wide and diverse range of excellent opportunities, inside and outside the classroom, that we believe enable our young people to develop exceptionally well both academically and personally.

Should you have any queries please contact Mrs S Barnes at the College on s-barnes@garthhillcollege.com or 01344 421122.

Only applications submitted on the official application form will be considered.

Closing date for applications is 9am, 15 April 2026.

Garth Hill College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/young people and expects all employees, workers and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices share this commitment.

This position requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check because it involves contact with (or access to data concerning) children/young people/adults at risk. You will need to tell us about any spent convictions or cautions, which may later appear on your DBS Certificate.
