This is a unique opening for a practitioner who balances high academic standards with a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. For the right candidate, we are offering the opportunity to take on a Leadership Responsibility as the KS1 & KS2 Maths Coordinator, carrying an additional allowance.
Key Responsibilities
As a core member of our department, you will ensure our pupils receive a stimulating and rigorous mathematical education. Your role will involve:
Instructional Excellence: Teaching Maths across KS2 and KS3, delivering well-prepared, resourced, and differentiated lessons that challenge pupils of all abilities.
Assessment & Progress: Following school policies for testing, marking, and reporting to ensure every child’s progress is tracked and celebrated.
Classroom Environment: Maintaining a disciplined, organised, and vibrant learning space that features regularly updated displays.
Professionalism: Engaging in INSET to stay current with pedagogical developments and liaising closely with parents and tutors.
Community Contribution: Participating in the wider life of the school, including cover duties and boarding house evening duties (pro-rata).
Leadership Path: KS1 & KS2 Coordinator
For candidates seeking additional responsibility, this role can be expanded to oversee the foundation of our Maths curriculum. Duties include:
Pedagogical Support: Guiding KS1 and KS2 teachers on teaching approaches and resourcing.
Quality Assurance: Assisting the Head of Department with book scrutinies, learning walks, and data analysis.
Curriculum Development: Creating end-of-year assessments and contributing to the Department Development Plan and budget.
Admissions & Enrichment: Managing maths-related admissions assessments and coordinating entries for national maths competitions.

Experienced in KS1/KS2 coordination (desirable).
