'The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school, since the last inspection.’

(Ofsted January 2018)

London East Alternative Provision (LEAP) is a highly-successful, high-achieving, inner-city school, delivering transformative education to young people of all ages from Primary through to post-16.

From October 2023, we expect to be providing education to at least 275 students across the full age range from Primary to Post-16 across three separate sites.

This is a particularly exciting time to be joining our team - as we increase the number of our provisions across the borough of Tower Hamlets by opening our new satellite centre in the heart of the Isle of Dogs and expand our already high-functioning team of teachers and support staff.

Applications are invited from talented, hard-working and committed individuals for the post of Maths teacher at our school, based at our KS3 Centre in Stepney Green. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the LEAP aims, values and ethos and a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students, including those with complex behavioural needs.

We are looking for a dynamic, committed specialist with an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the GCSE Maths curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a proven academic knowledge of the subject and a talent for engaging students’ interest and involvement in its study.

Our students all come to us keen to improve their performance in Maths. We naturally want them to do well in their exams – however, we also want them to develop the best possible reasoning and analytic skills, as part of preparing them as well as we can for adult life.

So, they need a teacher who can both facilitate their academic progress and support them with their complex behaviour and learning needs.

If that sounds like you then we would love for you to apply.

Closing date:              Friday, 20th October 2023

Interviews:                  Week beginning 23rd October 2023

Please return your application form by no later than 9am on Friday, 20th October 2023 to Kathryn Ryan, our School Business Manager.        kathryn.ryan@londoneastap.org.uk

Should you wish to visit our school before deciding whether or not to apply, you will be most welcome. Visits also can be arranged by emailing Kathryn Ryan.

London East Alternative Provision is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and Barred List Checks.
