At Outwood Grange Academies Trust, we're not just a collection of schools, we're a family driven by a shared belief in the power of education to transform lives. With a proven track record of success and a reputation for excellence, we're one of the oldest and largest multi-academy trusts in the country. We're passionate about providing a world-class education for every student, and maths is at the heart of that mission. We're on a mission to put this vital subject at the heart of every child's learning journey, and we need passionate educators like you to join us.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. Our single goal is ‘Students First’ and you will be joining a strong team of professionals working towards this aim.
At Outwood Grange Academy we expect our staff to be the best they can be and in turn encourage and bring out the best in our wonderful students. Our diverse curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility – towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. This is an opportunity to join our Maths Department who are committed to driving progress and attainment to improve the life chances of every student.
The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of schools. Our Executive Director for Maths leads Yorkshire and the Humber Maths Hub and there are masses of opportunities for you to get involved in the fantastic projects they run.
The maths department at Outwood Grange Academy has 18 classrooms based in our dedicated maths block, each equipped with an interactive TV and visualiser to support the delivery of lessons. You will be joining a strong department that ranges in experience from ECTs to more than 20 years’ experience and members of the Senior Leadership Team. We also benefit from maths one-to-one tutors and a specialist numeracy TA who offer intervention to students. The department is led by our experienced Head of Department with a vision to succeed. Leadership development, succession planning and capacity building are major priorities for the Trust as this enables us to facilitate rapid progression for those who want to advance either in the classroom or at a leadership level. You will be well supported by an experienced team of teachers and Directors as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging curriculum experience that focuses on teaching for understanding. The ability to teach KS4 and KS5 is desirable as we are committed to continuing to provide excellent Post 16 provision.
