We are seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic individual to work with our Maths Department to contribute to building on our success as a department by supporting young people to reach their potential in their Maths GCSE exams. You will be passionate about students' learning and will work under the guidance of the Head of Maths and alongside other member of the team to organise and run a variety of interventions including individual and small group sessions.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess a level 3 qualification in Maths or Maths related field or have experience in supporting students for Maths GCSE exams
- Have interpersonal skills which will encourage them to engage with our students and work with teaching colleagues.
- Have the confidence to work independently with students on a one-to-one or small group basis delivering interventions to improve students' mathematical skills.
- Have IT skills sufficient to manage data, create timetables and to find resources to support students and colleagues
- Be able to work with class teachers in the classroom to support whole class interventions.
This post is Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week 08:30am-4:10pm Mon-Thu, 08:30am-3.20pm Fri
Term Time plus 5 days (39 working weeks per year)
Actual pro-rated salary range : £19,354-£21,044pa (based on Grade 13 full-time equivalent £23,893-£25,979pa

About Haygrove School
Haygrove School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Bridgwater, Somerset. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,106 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.
There has been a school on the Durleigh Road site since the establishment of Dr Morgan’s Grammar School. The grammar school became the co-educational Haygrove School in 1973. Haygrove converted to academy status in 2011.
The town of Bridgwater has a population of 41,200 and is located to the west of the Quantocks. Haygrove School is situated next to St Mary’s Primary School.

“Students’ behaviour and attendance have improved markedly since the introduction of a wider range of courses in Years 10 and 11, the mentoring of vulnerable students and the sharper systems for managing inappropriate behaviour. Attendance is above average and shows a trend of improvement, while exclusions have fallen dramatically and are now at a low level. The very large majority of parents and carers feel that their child is safe at the academy and that the standard of behaviour is good.”
