Salary Range: £18,500pa to £22,680pa (dependent upon qualifications & experience)
We would like to appoint a full-time Matron to a key residential role working in an established Boarding House team. The successful candidate will assist the Housemaster in providing pastoral care of teenage boys. You will be a responsible and caring person, who would enjoy working and living in our school community.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to form professional relationships with teenagers.
- A sympathetic and understanding approach with a good sense of humour.
- Supervisory skills would be an advantage as you will be supervising a team of domestic staff.
The Matron’s main responsibility is to support the Housemaster by ensuring the welfare and well-being of all boys, and the smooth running of the domestic and laundry arrangements of the house. The Matron requires understanding and sympathy with the boys, balancing friendly disposition with the need to maintain discipline.
This is a very interesting and rewarding role working during term-time and provides school accommodation all year around to the successful full-time candidate. We will consider candidates that would like to job-share in this role.
