We would like to appoint a part-time, job share Matron to this key residential position working in Oldham’s Hall Boarding House. The successful applicants will assist the Housemaster in providing pastoral care of teenage boys. You will be a responsible and caring person, who enjoys working and living in our school community.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills and a proven ability to form professional relationships with teenagers. Essentially, you must have a sympathetic and understanding approach with a good sense of humour. The Matron’s main responsibility is to support the Housemaster by ensuring the welfare and well-being of all boys and the smooth running of the domestic and laundry arrangements of the house. The Matron requires understanding and sympathy with the boys, balancing friendly disposition with the need to maintain discipline. This is a very interesting and rewarding role which provides school accommodation to the successful applicant during shift hours.
