We are recruiting for a Me Time Programme Coordinator, this position is a permanent full-time role (37.5 hours per week), Monday – Friday, based in Denton, covering the Tameside area.

Me Time is Mencap’s social inclusion, leisure, and community-based programme. It supports people with a learning disability to develop skills and confidence, expand their networks, and be fully included in their local community. People with a learning disability steer the activities and are represented at all levels with Me Time through coproduction opportunities.  Me Time ensure that people with a learning disability can access local assets in the community and increase visibility and inclusion in local planning and developments.

The Me Time model is person centred and focused on improving quality of life for the people being supported, as well as providing pathways to other opportunities, for example volunteering and employment. You will work in partnership with the community to maximise the opportunities for people we support and make the community the best place to live.

What will your day look like? The Me Time Programme Coordinator will

  • lead on all aspects of delivery in their area
  • including significant budget management
  • knowledge & awareness of safeguarding
  • staff organisation
  • risk management
  • reporting and development along with the recruitment of new colleagues.
  •  responsible for planning and implementing new initiatives, aiming to assist people with a learning disability to live independent and fulfilling lives
  • ensure people can be part of and make important contributions to their local communities.  

You will be aspirational, flexible, and work with others to support people to progress in ways they want to. You will identify or create local hubs and places for community connections to form and thrive and build strong networks with local businesses and providers.

You will ensure the people we support, their families and other partners are actively involved, whilst looking for new opportunities to ensure the service is fully integrated in the local community. The focus of the support is to enable people to achieve key outcomes personal to them that promote wellbeing and maintain independence.  

You will monitor the delivery of the contracts and prepare quarterly reports and Key Performance Indicators for the Local Authority or Lead Provider. You will work collaboratively with other Me Time programmes across the country to share best practice and drive quality and continuous improvement.
