We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join the College as a Media Production Technician who will assist in managing, maintaining and operating the College’s media equipment in its recently opened, state-of-the-art Creative Learning Centre. This will include filming and editing lessons and presentations in addition to other events and providing technical support and advice to teaching and non-teaching staff.
The post would ideally suit a media based technician with a full range of production capabilities. A graduate in film or media studies or candidates with suitable alternative experience would be desirable. Other key skills include an interest and passion for film and media production, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, a thorough understanding of editing software, a sound grasp of production and post-production processes and a practical knowledge of cameras and audio software.
The hours for this post are term-time plus (35 weeks per year plus two additional weeks) – 18.75 hours per week Monday to Friday, with precise timings to be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate. The dates and times of the two additional weeks will be agreed with the Director of Creative Learning and the Audio, Visual and Performing Arts Technical Manager. Occasional evening and weekend work will also be necessary.
