35 hours per week, term time only plus 4 weeks

Media services is a new initiative with the School to provide teachers and students with support on digital literacies. Using the latest technologies both on-site and in the cloud, the Media Services team will help the school become a digital exemplar in the independent sector. You will be supported by the Director of Technical Services and the Senior Leadership Team and be given a free reign to explore new technologies for the betterment of education throughout the school. The team will play a key role in defining, orchestrating and delivering an ambitious digital strategy.

The Media Services Coordinator should be an education minded individual with a strong understanding of classroom technologies, including interactive learning resources. You should embrace the use of technology in the classroom and be able to run a Professional Development Centre providing demonstrations and training on new initiatives both in the PDC and the classroom. Experience in the management of VLE and the transition for paper based teaching to new digital platforms is also highly desirable. You will be supported by a Media Services Technician.

City of London Freemen’s School is a mixed, selective, non-denominational all-through school with sixth form situated in Ashtead, Surrey. It is an independent boarding school owned by the City of London Corporation, which provides 16 of its 22 governors. The school will provide 920 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 7-18, when fully subscribed.

City of London Freemen’s was founded in 1854 in Brixton, where it educated both boys and girls. It moved to its current Surrey location in 1926, expanding in size to accommodate increasing numbers of students.
