Job overview

Scarcroft Primary School is looking to appoint a caring and dedicated person to coordinate and lead all aspects of the school’s lunchtime and after school provision for pupils.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality care and provision for the pupils who attend the after school club and during the lunch time break. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of pupils, preparing and delivering engaging activities and supervising the dedicated teams of staff who care for and look after our pupils during these times.

You will have experience of working with children or young people and a minimum of a Level 2 qualification that is relevant to working within the after school club environment, as well as GCSE qualifications in English and maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent. Additional qualifications in food hygiene and first aid are desirable, but training will be provided if you do not already hold these. You will be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers and staff, and have experience of planning and delivering engaging activities for pupils, making the school’s provision a warm, fun and supportive place to be.

Scarcroft Primary School is a successful school with an excellent local reputation, which was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2022. You would be joining a supportive and committed group of professionals who greatly value team spirit. In addition, the Trust offers a range of staff benefits, including enrolment in the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme, 24/7 access to an employee assistance programme and a range of family friendly policies.

This is a fixed term position until 31 August 2025.

This is a term time only position for 30 hours per week (11.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday)

Interviews will be held on Thursday 23 May 2024.
