‘Pupils behave well around the school. They are polite towards adults, for example holding doors open for them. At lunchtimes in the hall where pupils eat their midday meal, the atmosphere is calm and orderly’. (Ofsted 2015)

Hazelwood Academy opened on the 1st June 2013 following the successful conversion of its predecessor school and is sponsored by Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). We are a Primary Academy with an attached Nursery, situated in West Swindon, located just off J16 of the M4. There are currently just over 200 pupils on roll and pupils benefit from a modern, purpose built school building with extensive grounds. The Academy is at an exciting stage in its journey and is committed to securing the future of Hazelwood Academy as a centre of excellence and innovation, where talent is nurtured.

We are looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistant to work alongside our existing team of MDSAs, supervising the care and behaviour of pupils, and promoting a positive lunchtime experience for all. The successful candidates will be able to maintain a safe working environment, be able to work well as part of a team and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage but is not essential.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, Cycle2work, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.

Closing date: Thursday 8 December 2016.
Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing Monday 12 December 2016.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.
