Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle Leader | Sports Program Leader. This tier 2 position is a full-time continuing teaching appointment, with a mid-Triennium one year appointment as Middle Leader. 

As Middle Leader Sports Program Leader, you will be responsible for:
•    Leading the Sports Program in the school,
•    Supervising teachers engaged in the Sports Program throughout the school,
•    Induction of new teachers within the Sports Program, 
•    Pastoral care of staff engaged in the designated areas of responsibility, and
•    Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal. 
 
To be successful in this role, you will be able to meet the following criteria:
•    Hold appropriate qualifications and experience across all areas of Physical Education (PE) studies,
•    The ability to teach PE plus Design Technology (Materials and Technologies Specialisation/Engineering Principles) or another area would be highly desirable,
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills,
•    Proven organisational skills,
•    A clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum,
•    An ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers,
•    Ability to engage students with innovative and creative practices, and

Southern Cross Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 school offering families a co-educational pathway to life-long learning. The College was founded in 1995 following the amalgamation of the Catholic primary and secondary schools in the Moreton Bay Region. The multi-campus College operates as the principal Catholic College on the Redcliffe peninsula. Southern Cross Catholic College has three campuses located in Scarborough, Kippa Ring and Woody Point accommodating students in Prep to Year 6 and a fourth campus in Scarborough accommodating middle and senior years students from Year 7 to 12.  Explore our school website to learn more about us.

 

Working at BCE our teachers are required to:

  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education
