Downside is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and one of England’s oldest and most distinguished Catholic schools. Downside School is housed in magnificent buildings set in a 500 acre estate at the foot of the Mendip Hills, twelve miles south of the city of Bath. A notable aspect of our school is its love of scholarship, combined with a lively sense of tradition.
From September 2018 Downside is looking to appoint a part-time Minibus Driver, who has experience in a similar role, to drive one of our School minibuses on the day pupil route (from Chew Valley/Chewton Mendip). You will be reliable, approachable and able to work on your own initiative. It is important to be able to remain on schedule and provide an excellent service to our pupils. It is essential that the appointed person has a full, clean driving licence with a D1 entitlement and is able to pass the MiDAS assessment. Should you be first aid trained, already have the MiDAS Certificate and have a D1 entitlement on your driving licence then your application would be highly desirable.
We can offer:
• 22.5 hours per week. Approximate hours of work are Monday to Saturday 06.45-08.15am and Monday to Friday 18.00-19.45pm, plus an additional 3 hours for cleaning/maintenance of the minibus.
• £8.48 per hour plus holiday pay (28 days including bank holidays, pro-rata)
• Term time only position (34 weeks + 5 days for INSET / Training)
• A supportive, skilled and innovative staff team.
Closing date for applications:
Friday 1st June, by 12noon
Interviews to be carried out: W/c 11th June 2018
