We have opportunities for Software Development or Data Analyst Apprentices to join our teams delivering top quality solutions for the college. As an apprentice in the team, your job will involve working on a range of projects which impact both the students’ journey from application to results, as well as systems to support staff across the college.
Joining us as an apprentice in the Planning and Information Systems Directorate you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the MIS and Development departments as either a Web Developer or Data Analyst. Within the role you will quickly be given the opportunity to work on real life projects and will cover all aspects of the role under the supervision of more senior members of the team.
Alongside your work and apprenticeship; you will also be studying for a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions degree. The apprenticeship training program within the MIS and Funding department is now in its fifth year and has been designed to fully align and support you with both your studies and apprenticeship principals. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable industry skills working in a fast paced and often changing area, whilst also studying for a Degree.
Applicants for this role must have a good standard of education; including L3 qualifications in Computer Science or closely related subjects. Excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask and an aptitude for problem solving are all required and while experience of programming or databases is desirable, it is not essential. In return you will benefit by working alongside industry professionals and other apprentices on the same degree program.

You will receive an additional leave allowance for your own professional development, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme where the College contributes over 22% of your salary, as well as access to an onsite gym, nursery and catering facilities.
