The post of MIS Manager is a strategically important role for the college. Accurate, timely and up-to-date information is the essential for the operations of any institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality information which will inform decision making throughout the whole college at all levels.


·      To provide clear and accurate monitoring data and to ensure data accuracy in funding and other external returns

·      Work closely with the Director of Finance, Estates and MIS to develop the college management information systems

·      Work alongside college staff to define and develop their data needs, designing and maintaining meaningful and accurate reports to support college effectiveness and support the development of college reporting systems

·      Ensure that the MIS function meets all internal and external requirements, including those of the internal audit schedule by ensuring that all MIS policies and procedures are fully documented

·      Provide support to the examinations team and assist with results day

·      Develop and support internal data systems to support the efficient administration of learning, teaching and administration

·      Work closely with the Assistant Principal in planning and implementing the college timetable to ensure the cost effective deployment of staff to create evenly balanced teaching and tutor groups at optimum sizes

Ashton Sixth Form College is the leading provider of 16-18 education in the area. The college is located in Tameside, Greater Manchester and supports around 2,000+ students on A-Level and vocational programmes. The college also offers a number of Adult and Higher Education courses.
