Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
We are seeking an experienced ‘hands on’ Management Information Systems (MIS) professional to manage our MIS systems and lead a committed team located across the College’s two sites. This is a rare opportunity arising from the retirement of the current manager.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for student data within the College. This includes student enrolments and fees, timetabling, funding returns and compiling reports direct from databases. The College delivers provision for 16-19 year olds, adult education, higher education and apprenticeships. We currently use the Capita UNITe database.
You will have a working knowledge of higher education provision and an understanding of further education funding methodology and compliance, experience of managing college student record systems and a qualification or in depth understanding of database structures. Additionally, you will have excellent communication skills, resource management, planning and organisational skills as well as the ability to work with people at all levels of the College and a proven track-record of positive team leadership.

Peter Symonds College is a sixth form provider in Winchester, Hampshire with approximately 4,000 students aged 16-19, the majority of whom are studying A level. There is also a thriving adult provision with around 3,000 enrolments each year, ranging from leisure to HE and including teacher training. The College has two co-educational boarding houses accommodating over 70 students, including those from the Falklands Islands overseas territory.
The town of Winchester has a population of 45,000, and is known for its landmark cathedral and for an exceptional range of cultural activities. It is frequently cited in surveys as one of the best places to live in the UK. The College is a five minute walk from Winchester rail station.
