The opportunity
COORDINATOR – MOCKINGBIRD PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY
Mockingbird Performing Arts Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and highly organised Coordinator to join our team and help take the Academy to the next level.
Candidates should have a background in customer care, administration, finance and or marketing. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and committed to maximising the experience of all our young participants. The role is designed to ensure that Mockingbird is accessible and welcoming to all and to provide clear communication and orientation for all those making their first step in contacting the Academy. The co-ordinator will ensure that Mockingbird continues to move at a pace in meeting our creative vision and offers the highest level of customer service, continuity and efficiency to every one.
Working closely with the Director of Mockingbird Performing Arts Academy, the Coordinator will be at the heart of the Academy’s day-to-day operation, supporting our pupils, teachers and families while helping to develop and promote an exciting programme of Drama, Dance, Musical Theatre and LAMDA Examinations.

The successful candidate will help to raise the profile of Mockingbird, attract new pupils and ensure that our existing pupils and families receive an exceptional experience.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Director of Mockingbird Performing Arts Academy, the Coordinator will support the day-to-day administration and delivery of the Academy programme, including promoting classes and productions, responding to enquiries and assisting with student recruitment. They will help organise and administer LAMDA examinations, liaising with pupils, parents and LAMDA, as well as supporting the planning and delivery of productions, performances, workshops and events. The role will also involve maintaining student records, supporting teachers, assisting with ticket sales and marketing, and providing practical support with props, costumes, set and backstage organisation. The Coordinator will contribute to the continued growth and development of the Academy and help ensure a positive experience for pupils, parents and staff.
About You
You may have a background in Performing Arts, Theatre, Arts Administration, Marketing, Events, Education, Customer Service or Business, but above all we are looking for someone with the right combination of creativity, enthusiasm, organisation and initiative.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be confident communicating with pupils, parents, teachers and external organisations. You will be highly organised and able to manage a variety of responsibilities, while also bringing fresh ideas and creative thinking to the development of the Academy.
Marketing experience is particularly desirable, including experience of social media, digital communications, creating promotional content and finding innovative ways to engage new audiences and participants.
Most importantly, you will be someone who wants to make a difference helping Mockingbird continue to grow, evolve and provide outstanding Performing Arts experiences for our pupils.
