Required to start as soon as possible, Modern Foreign Languages TA for 30 hours per week to work with students on a one to one basis, in small groups and as classroom support within the MFL department, which is part of the Communications Faculty. We would welcome applications from candidates with limited experience as well as those who may have worked with children before. Experience of working with secondary age students (and specific language subject knowledge) and experience of any language interventions would be an advantage.
We provide excellent support and guidance to successful candidates at all levels of prior experience from a dedicated and experienced team of staff.

The post holders' responsibilities include providing small group or one to one support; general classroom support; particularly supporting students in their language development but also with their social and emotional needs to engage in the classroom. This includes developing resources and liaising with teaching staff in the development and delivery of a differentiated curriculum to meet the needs of students, and then supporting students in the acquisition and understanding of their MFL language lesson. This is to enable students to overcome barriers to their learning of language concepts and to develop more effective coping strategies, so that they can access the relevant curriculum and engage in wider opportunities to enable them to be more successful.

There are also possibilities and opportunities for our TAs who are able to work during lunchtimes (lunch duties) and/or there may be possibilities after school to extend your hours of work, subject to needs of students and the Academy. There are excellent opportunities for staff to thrive and develop further at the Academy.

Joseph Leckie Academy is a vibrant, exciting and innovative mixed 11-18 Academy being graded as “Good” across all areas by Ofsted (October 2021).
