We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of MFL to join our team as we continue on our journey to providing an outstanding education for all in our care. We are looking for someone with character, who has the highest standards and ambitions, and the drive and determination to ensure the department and our students flourish beyond what they thought possible.

We are committed to all students developing a love of languages and a desire to achieve the very best they can.

The MFL Department is an established team delivering an organised curriculum for French and German that is well planned and resourced. The team develop students’ language learning in a calm and purposeful manner acting coherently in their teaching approach.

Teachers put an emphasis on success through high-quality language acquisition and robust practice both spoken and written. In recent years the school has benefited from a language assistant from Trier University. Overseas visits and exchanges have historically been the highlight of the school calendar for many children. For the successful candidate this is a unique opportunity to join a superb team and shape the department's future success.

The successful candidate will have a strong and secure knowledge of the GCSE curriculum, in addition they will have a strong understanding of the KS5 curriculum content. They will be able to maintain and build on a culture of success where all feel valued and proud of their achievements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate: -

  • a passion for modern foreign languages and teaching with an excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical understanding
  • they are an excellent classroom practitioner, who is experienced in teaching MFL at key Stages 3, 4 and, ideally 5
  • success at achieving consistently good results in MFL, at least, at key stage 3 and key stage 4
  • the ability to create and facilitate highly challenging and engaging lessons
  • highest aspirations and expectations for all students and lead this by personal example
  • aspiration to progress their career in the future
  • they are optimistic, positive, cheerful and develop others to flourish.
