Job overview

This innovative and successful 11-18 school first opened in September 2004 and has grown year on year. Oriel High School is now heavily oversubscribed each year with over 1400 students and was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2016; it has excellent facilities and is a dynamic learning community.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well qualified graduate to join our motivated and successful Music team. The performing and visual arts are very popular at Oriel High School and we offer extensive provision for these areas.

The Music department is innovative and forward thinking; it comprises 2 full time and 1 part time teachers. The Music and Performance areas are exceptionally well resourced with high quality recording and sound reproduction facilities. All students study Music at KS3 and both Music and Music Technology are options in both the KS4 and 5 curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent teacher with the ability to inspire, enthuse and engage learners.
  • Be able to teach Music across all key stages (the ability to contribute to the delivery of BTEC Music Technology would be advantageous)
  • Show a willingness and ability to contribute to the delivery of other areas of the curriculum.

We have excellent support for NQTs and would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who would like to grow and develop in an innovative and forward thinking school.

We actively encourage CPD throughout the school with a comprehensive programme for teachers at all stages of their careers.
