We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who enjoys working with young people to join our ambitious and exciting Music Department. This post is suitable for candidates with suitable subject knowledge who are naturally practical and creative, as well as an interest in working in a school environment.

The Music Department at King Edward VI High School for Girls (KEHS) is a large and flourishing music department supporting a wide range of bands, choirs and orchestras in conjunction with the King Edward’s School (KES) music department.

Job details

Term time (including all INSET days), 28.75 hours per week, 8.15am to 2.00pm with 30 minute unpaid lunch break

The School

King Edward VI High School for Girls (KEHS) is one of the most successful girls’ schools in this country with outstanding academic results and a large programme of extra-curricular activity. The school is an independent day school with 560 girls aged 11-18 and is part of the King Edward VI Foundation, which has eight schools in Birmingham. It is situated on a beautiful 50 acre campus in Edgbaston, which it shares with King Edward’s School. It is only three miles from Birmingham city centre and has excellent transport access by road and rail (the University train station is only a 10 minute walk).
