Music Department Coordinator (Part-time)

Haberdashers’ Adams is a selective state grammar school with academy status situated in the small market town of Newport in rural Shropshire. It is a boy’s school with co-educational Sixth Form although it will become co-educational in Year 7 from September 2024, taking approximately 30 girls into year 7. There are five forms of entry and currently about 1050 pupils on roll; approximately 100 of these are boarders. The Sixth Form has about 370 students of whom about 120 are girls.

We are seeking to recruit a Music Department Coordinator to join this effervescent department. The Music Department is a busy one, you will play an integral part in helping to manage students peripatetic instrumental and vocal lessons, correspond with parents, assist with School productions and much more, please see the attached job description for further details.

Previous experience of working in a school setting would be advantageous, along with basic office administration, proficiency in word processing and excellent communication skills. You will work a handover period alongside the outgoing post holder from the 1st July 2024.

Hours for this role are 28 hours per week, exact working hours to be discussed at interview, term-time plus one week (including some PD days).

Salary - Actual salary £14, 699 - £15,575. Dependent on experience. (FTE £22,908-£24,274).
