As the Head of Music, your responsibility will include: • Raising standard and attainment of achievements across the three schools amongst students and music teacher.  • Leading departmental meetings and sharing the discussed agenda with the music teachers / relevant members of the senior management. • Monitoring the budget and reviewing the stock take annually. • Conducting lesson observations and annual appraisals with confidence. The Head of Music also expected to deliver the music curriculum within the frame of MYP to the Middle School Students by instilling technical and musical development and real excitement for learning. A flexible attitude is paramount for this role to maintain a good balanced between academics and events. 

The successful applicant will be expected to lead the school choir and orchestra as well as teaching Individual and Group lessons while working along with the Music MYP Coordinator to amend and improve continuously the current Units and scheme of work that would eventually initiate the DP music programme. Preference will be given for wind and brass specialist with a solid knowledge of harmony and arranging skill. 

To be considered for this role, the condidate must be a first-rate practitioner, who hold a relevant degree, at least 3 years of teaching experience with demonstrable understanding of GCSE and/or IB framework.

The Employment Contract will be for two years which can be renewed on mutual consent.
