Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a full time Music Instructor to work within a specialist provision in the Sunderland area. The provision caters for young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) so you will need to be resilient and have excellent behaviour management. This position will begin on a supply basis in September 2019 but will lead to a permanent job for the right candidate. You will be working between the hours of 8.30am-4.00pm Monday-Friday.

Due to the nature of the students, previous experience of working with young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) would be beneficial.

To be considered for the position of Music Instructor you must:

  • Have experience of working with Primary or Secondary aged students who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) in either in a mainstream or in a SEND setting
  • Be able to deliver Music to secondary aged students
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of practitioners who all pull together to inspire in what is a challenging environment
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons
