This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, creative and forward thinking Music specialist to teach well behaved, motivated and high achieving pupils and provide leadership and direction for Music at Sheffield Girls’.
As Music Leader, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of policies for the teaching of Music throughout the Pre-School, Infant and Junior School in order to optimise pupil progress and development. In accordance with school curriculum policy, you will play a key role in determining the direction of the Music curriculum, as well as leading by example, promoting excellence and inspiration in learning by being the lead Music practitioner.
All of our teachers are expected to participate fully in the extra-curricular life of the school. Applications from newly qualified and experienced teachers are welcome. Music is an important part of school life with numerous choirs and ensembles and very close links with the Senior School Music department. There is a very well equipped and resourced Music room in both the Infant and Junior Schools, good performance facilities and a suite of rooms for individual Music lessons. The Junior and Senior School Music departments have been fully involved in a number of outreach projects, supporting the development of Music in local state primary schools.
