Music Teacher (Early Years & Primary)

We are looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Music Teacher, with an ability to teach music in early years - primary, to join us from August 2024.

Applicants should have a degree in Music and a teaching qualification and be a highly motivated and successful practitioner, who is willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the college. Candidates would ideally have strong keyboard skills for accompaniment of choirs, curriculum music and ensembles. This is a tremendous opportunity for an exceptional teacher to join the College and to further develop their career.

The Music Department prides itself on being inclusive as well as high performing. We are also open-minded and celebrate all types of music, running an incredible array of events throughout the year from National Battle of the Bands to Qatar School Choir of the Year - a large choral event for children aged 5 to 18. We also attend Young Musician of the Gulf and COBIS Music competitions annually. This is in addition to a full complement of internal concerts, productions, and recitals. Our Instrumental Department has a team of 6 full-time instrumental specialists who deliver lessons on strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, guitar, piano, voice and theory. We are a busy and thriving Department that requires energy, passion, commitment, and forward-thinking vision from its team. 

All students are issued an iPad upon entry, and as a Google School, all staff and students use Google Classroom.

About you

The successful candidate will be an outstanding role model within the Department and within the College as a whole. Candidates should have demonstrated success in their current role, be highly motivated and successful practitioners and above all else, have a real passion for the subject. Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including co-curricular activities. The post holder should have experience in delivering an early years and primary music curriculum, and preferably have the ability to also teach Music in our Secondary School when required. 

We are a British International School, and all our lessons are taught in English. A high standard of written and spoken English is essential. Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including co-curricular activities.
