Dubai Heights Academy is a warm and welcoming place to work. Located in the Al Barsha South area of Dubai, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational Music Teacher to join our team.

We opened in 2017 and offer an inclusive, exciting and outstanding education to an international community of students from FS1 to Year 10 (August 2023) and will continue to grow organically to Year 13.

The campus is state-of-the-art with separate buildings for each phase as well as a 380 seat auditorium. There are three temperature controlled swimming pools, fully equipped science and computer labs, specialist rooms for art, DT, music, and drama, a library, two multipurpose sports halls, a full size football pitch, a variety of outdoor play areas and a spacious canteen.

Dubai Heights Academy provides a curriculum that meets the needs of all of our students and follows the National Curriculum for England as the basis of its curriculum. This has been tailored to comply with local requirements and supplemented with Arabic language, Islamic Studies, Moral Education and Social Studies. In addition, Dubai Heights Academy has partnered with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to develop and deliver a bespoke AI (artificial intelligence) project-based programme for Key Stage 3 & 4 students, to further enrich our broad and balanced curriculum.

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to join our vibrant school and inspire young minds in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1). As a Music Teacher, you will play a crucial role in introducing students to the world of music, fostering their creativity, and developing a love for music through engaging and interactive lessons.

Responsibikities:

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate music lessons for students in EYFS and KS1, following the school's curriculum guidelines and objectives.
  • Introduce fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, melody, pitch, dynamics, and tempo, through interactive activities, songs, and games.
  • Incorporate a variety of musical instruments, such as percussion instruments, recorders, and handbells, to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of different sounds and textures.
  • Teach basic music notation and encourage students to explore their own creativity through composing and improvisation.
  • Integrate movement and dance into music lessons to enhance students' physical coordination and expressiveness.
  • Organise and direct small performances or musical presentations, involving students and promoting their confidence and teamwork skills.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation, respect for others' ideas, and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Performing Arts and other teachers and staff to integrate music into cross-curricular activities and enhance students' overall learning experience.
  • Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback, highlighting areas of improvement and recognizing their achievements.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share students' musical development and engage them in supporting their child's musical growth.


The successful applicant will be required to have the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
  • A teaching qualification is preferred.
  • Exceptional talent and music knowledge
  • At least 3 years experience of the National Curriculum for England    
  • Experience in teaching music to young children, specifically in the EYFS and KS1 stages.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies in music education.
  • Proficiency in playing various musical instruments and understanding of basic music theory.
  • Ability to engage and motivate young students through creative and interactive teaching strategies.
  • Enthusiasm for music and a passion for inspiring young learners to appreciate and enjoy music.
  • Familiarity with music education resources, digital tools, and technologies for enhancing music instruction.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working in a team.
